What the work looks like

Four kinds of task

Record your voice

Read prompts aloud, hold a natural conversation with a partner, or answer questions in your own dialect. Usually 30–90 minutes per session, from home or one of our studios.

Write in your language

Answer questions, write short passages, or translate between your language and English. If you have professional training — medicine, law, accounting — there is specialised work that pays more.

Take photos or video

Capture everyday scenes, documents or objects to a brief. Some projects need photos of you for facial recognition research, which has its own separate and clearer consent.

Label and review data

Check whether a transcript is accurate, mark objects in a photo, or judge which of two AI answers is better. Steady work once you pass the qualification round.

Protect yourself from scams

People impersonate data-collection companies to defraud contributors. Please remember:

We will never ask you for money
We will never ask for your bank password or OTP
We will never charge a registration or training fee
We only contact you from our official domain and verified numbers

If someone claiming to be from The Dataa asks you for payment, stop and report it to us at once.

Answers

Questions from contributors

It depends on the project, the task and your language. Rates are always shown before you accept a task, and are set at or above the local living wage — typically well above local platform rates for the same time. Speech recording and expert writing pay the most; simple labeling pays least. You will never be asked to start work without knowing the rate.

For most speech and text work, an Android or iOS phone from roughly the last five years is enough. Our capture app works offline and syncs when you have signal, so patchy connectivity is not a barrier. Some studio and multi-microphone projects happen at our facilities, and we cover travel for those.

Within 14 days of your work passing quality review. We pay by bank transfer, JazzCash, EasyPaisa or Raast — whichever works for you. You do not need a bank account.

They are used to train artificial intelligence systems — speech recognition, translation, assistants and similar. This is stated plainly in the consent you sign before you start, in your own language. Your name is not attached to the data; you are identified by a pseudonymous ID. You can ask us to stop using your data at any time, and we will explain honestly what we can and cannot undo.

Never. We will never ask you for money, for a registration fee, for a deposit, or for your banking password. Anyone claiming to represent The Dataa and asking you for payment is committing fraud — please report it to us immediately.
